Evan A. McCallum
Author of Horus Saves and Hour is Lord.
McCallum, 88, died September 11, 2013. Graveside services with military honors were held September 27 at Graceland Cemetery near Rowan. Evan Arthur was born in Chicago on January 6, 1925, the son of Verni and Helen McCallum. The family moved to Wheaton when Evan was small. He graduated from high school in Wheaton. After his father retired from Commonwealth Edison, the family moved to Anaheim, CA. Evan served in the U.S. Navy as a Fireman 1st Class from July 1943 until May 1946. He graduated from California State University at Long Beach in 1964 with a BS in engineering. He also attended Fullerton College, studying metallurgy, machine shop, electronics, versa cad, and smart cam. He worked as a teacher’s assistant, instructing master cam for two years, and also on the machine shop floor at Rancho Santiago College. Evan worked as a tool maker for many companies in the Anaheim area such as Aero Jet, Space Tek, and Shuey Aircraft. In June 1992 he was laid off. During the 1980’s Evan lived with his mom and dad. Helen passed away in 1981 and Verni passed away in 1985. Evan spend a good deal of time going back and forth from work to home looking after his parents. After his teaching assistant position he became a guard at a Santa Ana office in 1998, and in November 1999 he moved to Portland, OR and was a shipping clerk. Evan contacted the Jack Burt family in 2005 about retiring in the Midwest. Evan’s father Verni was Laura Burt’s brother (Jack’s mother). Evan remembered visiting the Burt farm as a little boy. So at the age of 80, and with dementia somewhat advanced, Evan moved to this area. Evan settled in at the Belmond Community Apartments. He enjoyed reading the daily newspaper at the public library and driving to Unity Church in Mason City. He made friends with Carol at the library and Joe at the gas station.  With his dementia, he was unable to continue to live independently. He became a resident of the care centers in Belmond and Clarion, a VA foster home near Des Moines, a home in Williams, and lived several times with Mary-Louise in her home at the Burt farm near Rowan. He was preceded in death by his siblings Laura Macafee and Alice Clark. His ashes will be placed in Graceland Cemetery with his grandparents Logan and Louise McCallum, his aunt and uncle Jim and Laura Burt, his cousin Don Burt, and other McCallum ancestors. Evan is survived by his nieces and nephews and their families: Walter and Valerie Clark, Haley and Victoria of Aubrey, TX; Chuck and Sue Clark of Portland, OR; Abe and Bonnie Clark, Stephanie, Erin and Susan of Streator, IL; Ronald and Carol Clark and Melinda of Pearl City, IL; Alice and Mike Meronek, Andrew, Danielle and Helen of Almont, MI; Susan Macafee of Green Valley, AZ; and Philip and Laurie Macafee of San Francisco, CA.

George Lincoln Rockwell
March 9, 1918 – Aug.25, 1967
(National-Socialist)
Cremated, Ashes last known to be in custody of the New Order,
George Lincoln Rockwell – In 2017, the NEW ORDER transferred his ashes from the wooden receptacle, in which they had been kept since the 1960s, to a specially-crafted urn made of marble and metal. It has two engraved metal plaques on the long sides. One shows an eagle and Swastika, and the other has a portrait of Commander Rockwell with his personal information.

Savitri Devi
Sept. 30, 1905 – Oct. 22, 1982
(Maximiani Portaz) (National-Socialist)
Cremated ashes last known to be in custody of the New Order
Savitri Devi – Savitri’s ashes currently reside in an inexpensive urn that was furnished by the memorial home in England where she was cremated. People sometimes ask if they can visit the remains of GLR and SD, but we have them safely tucked away and do not take them out for show-and-tell.

Matt Koehl
Commander Koehl passed away on the night of October 9-10, 2014.
The Waukesha (Wisconsin) County coroner listed the cause of death as “complications due to cancer.”That is a little vague, but Commander Koehl had been suffering from cancer for several years and his death was expected. He was in bad shape at the end. Due to an unfortunate oversight in his will, his body ended up in possession of his family and not the NEW ORDER. His brother and sister are devout Pentacostalists. We asked them if we could (1) have him cremated; (2) have an NS funeral for him; and (3) have his ashes kept with those of Commander Rockwell and Savitri Devi. These were his stated wishes, which he had announced publicly and privately for many years – decades, in fact. They denied all three requests. A National Socialist funeral would contain “pagan rites” they told us, which they would not countenance. Cremation would prevent the resurrection of his body on Judgement Day. In the end, they had him interred in an unmarked grave in Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee. For now. We later had a private memorial service in his honor – and they were indeed full of pagan rites!

Richard Berkeley Cotten was a conservative broadcaster and commentator.
He was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Sheppard M. and Ruth Wilson Cotton.
He was a political writer/commentator on the radio program & later newsletter, Conservative Viewpoint. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific during World War II. Cotten began his broadcasting career in Bakersfield, Ca in the late 1950s. Ten years later he was on thirty stations across America, including two international shortwave stations. He was on the air six times a week and published a newsletter. His broadcasts focused on the deteriorating White situation in the besieged countries of Rhodesia and South Africa. Also he was one of the first commentators to broadcast from the Middle East documenting Israel’s crimes in the region. The ADL took offense and tried to take him off the air. A landmark federal free speech case resulted in the Supreme Court of the United States ruling in favor of Cotten and against the ADL.

Upton Close born Josef Washington Hall (February 27, 1894 – November 13, 1960) was an explorer, adventurer, journalist, author, and radio commentator. He wrote several books on the Far East and contributed thousands of articles to magazines and newspapers. In the 1940s he became a radio commentator and was one of the few on the radio who were critical of FDR and his agenda. After the war he became associated with right-wing and nationalist causes and collaborated with anti-semites like Robert H. Williams and Gerald L. K. Smith. In December 1947 he disavowed his association with Smith. Upton Close gave his first radio broadcast in 1924. In the 1940s he became more isolationist and became a persistent critic of FDR. In December 1944 he was canceled by NBC radio due to Jewish pressure. For a short period he broadcasted over the Mutual Radio network until 1946. He had lived in Hollywood, California and in November 1947 moved back to Washington DC. He retired in Mexico and died in 1960 near Guadalajara in an auto collision with a train.
